MOUNTAIN SCHOOL WITH AKU 2024

A SCUOLA DI MONTAGNA CON AKU 2024

Alpine legends, among anguane and lifeguards , remind us of the need for respectful behavior towards the natural kingdom: the encounter with plants and animals alongside ancient tales can inspire changes that are increasingly necessary today. AKU together with Malga Cavallera and Malga Cere offers 3 excursions where, accompanied by expert guides, we can learn more about the Alpine ecosystem and thus learn to relate to it in a respectful and fair way.

Bivouac school in the mountains: rules of use and common sense

Excursion with a nature guide near Malga Cavallera, southern slope of the Agner-Croda Granda group (Pale di San Martino) in the municipality of Gosaldo. During an easy excursion we will deal with the delicate issue of the use of mountain bivouacs, retracing their history and understanding their initial purposes and discussing the inappropriate use that is often made of them lately. Near the Bivacco Menegazzi the guide will illustrate the correct use of the bivouac and the materials (backpack, sleeping bag, mattress, food, dishes, tent, etc.) necessary for a pleasant stay in the bivouacs of medium and high mountains. Basic information for the open-air bivouac in the mountain area will also be provided. Meeting at Domadore at 10.00 and end of the excursion at Rifugio Cavallera at approximately 13.30, with refreshments/snack offered by the manager.

Guide: Dario Ferroni, manager of the Rifugio Malga Cavallera, originally from the Venetian hinterland, is an archaeologist with experience in the African continent, a volunteer, and a nature-environmental guide.

Hiking School: Wolves and Guard Dogs

Easy afternoon excursion with a guide, in the pastures around Malga Cere and Malga Valpiana in Val Calamento (Lagorai), to learn about the mountain landscape and reflect on the delicate but essential relationship of coexistence between humans and predators. Walking along the paths we will address the issue of responsible frequentation of places where we are not the only inhabitants, the presence of the wolf and the guard dogs that shepherds increasingly use to defend their flocks. Departure at 2.00 pm from Malga Cere and end of excursion at Malga Cere at 6.00 pm, with refreshments/snack offered by the manager.

Guide: Anna Sustersic, born in Trieste, works as a freelancer in the field of environmental interpretation, communication, dissemination related to conservation issues and awareness of environmental protection.
